Wilson-Cobb History and Genealogy Research Library

The Wilson-Cobb History and genealogy Research Library is a special collection, standalone library that was established in April 1999 to serve Roswell, New Mexico and the surrounding communities.

The library offers access to more than 7,000 books, 11,000 periodicals, and the free use of the library''s subscriptions to Ancestry.com, Fold3.com and Newspapers.com on our computers with high speed Internet access. Experienced volunteers are available to help locate materials, or to get started using the computer subscriptions.

Memberships, grants, charitable donations from individuals and fundraisers support the library.

We welcome donations of books, office supplies and other items that can be used in the library's operations.

Wilson-Cobb Library's
Annual Workshop

Our venue for the annual workshop is not available this year due to the pandemic. We polled our membership to explore whether we should offer a virtual workshop. Members voted not to offer a webinar.

Due to the pandemic our library is closed to visitors. When we are able to open, we will post a notice on this page. Thank you for your continuing support.

R.I.P. Florine Newberg Hopkins Matthews, 1927-2020. Flo was one of the founders of the Wilson-Cobb Research Library and an active contributor to the genealogy community for many years. We will miss her.
